T2M 4P4
We will be commemorating St. James (called the Greater), commemorated throughout history and legend with the El Camino de Santiago, or the Way of St. James- the pilgrim’s route through Spain to the Tomb of the Apostle and the subject of Paulo Coelho’s popular book The Pilgrimage. Dinner/coffee to follow
Coffee and Conversation
July 31st, @ 7pm
Ricki’s All Day Grill
1632 – 14 Avenue NW,
Calgary, Alberta
The discussion will be inspired by none other than the patron of the parish, St. Joseph of Arimathea (whose day is celebrated on July 31st), a figure connected in legend and myth to both the founding of British Christianity, and the legend of the Holy Grail.
What is the myth of the Grail? Is it is cup? a salver? a stone? Is it just a concept or a story? What does it say about history? What does it say about ourselves? Whom does it serve? How does it relate to the Gnostic path?
As scheduled on the Calgary Johannite Mailing List
