The Most Rev. Mar Iohannes (McCann) was born to Daniel and Nancy McCann on July 3rd, 1977 in Hamilton, Ontario.

Raised in a religious environment by his Grandfather Henry de Jong, Mar Iohannes took a spiritual path at an early age. After the death of his grandfather he began to explore the world’s religions and belief systems, coming to examine Gnosticism, Christianity and the Western Mystery Tradition.

It was during this exploration that Mar Iohannes would eventually come into contact with His Eminence, The Most Reverend Iohannes III, and after a period in study, under the direct guidance of His Eminence, was ordained to the Priesthood in the Apostolic Johannite Church.

When time allows, Mar Iohannes enjoys studying history, writing music, and keeping up on current events.
